Again, being a member of a persecuted minority, and in hiding, Udo’s panic button is rather near the surface and available for ready pressing.

He’s actually a brave little man, but being afraid you may be grabbed and betray your whole family is like Military Fear — but far worse.

Military Fear is just proper fear (sometimes called “respect,” but that’s too nice) of your sergeants. Minority fear is much worse. A majority actually lives in minority fear; any excuse is taken to kill young women, in any situation, war or otherwise.

The only good thing that came out of the murder of the young women in Montreal is that the use of the word “Feminist” as an insult has had its day.
