One of you was asking where Hans went. He’s off to school! Lord help whatever university got him.
I don’t know if this kind of language-head-file lock-off happens — but I’ll bet it does. I’ll bet a Chinese dinner one of you will get me the link…..
Yes, THAT’s how I write: Idea pops into little vacant head, THEN I go get the research. Twisting the idea around until I get it to fit makes it even more fun. And twisty.
That’s our fat cat Leo, there, with his big smile and purr.

ahahah, the mighty fighter pilot is grumpy and jealous… ahahaha
He didn’t age very well, DID he?
One of the things I like the best of this comic is how the characters age, and you can see how their personalities either remain the same or change. So sweet to see Peach so “mother-like” with Udo, and making sure he’s eating enough. <3
Yes, those who have starved ALWAYS think of others, as well as themselves.
Perhaps Udo has an extreme case of Foreign Accent Syndrome? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foreign_accent_syndrome Combined with PTSD, who knows? He learned German and Russian in the traditional ways, but blocked anything to do with the War — except, perhaps, people he recognized from the War? My best guess anyway! Not a pro in this field, by any means! =^_^=
Thank you to Blade, who posted this as a message on Facebook and then very kindly posted it here. It’s the best explanation I’ve heard so far. Maybe I’ll go bug Sy Montgomery with it. I’m always abusing her with strange guesses at how brains work….
Ah! I’ve just remembered, I watched a documentary about a little-remembered Long March-type event in wartime China. A present-day young woman followed the footsteps of a loooong journey that was made by part of the Chinese Communist army. One of the survivors that they found was (I think) a soldier who had married a local woman. He was going rather dotty and had lost his native Mandarin to the point where they had to use a translator in the local dialect…
Will post link if I find it!
