Recently a young artist angrily had a fight with DeviantArt.com, claiming proudly she’s a “National Socialist.” After an attempt to talk to her, I realized she was either simply ignorant, mendacious, or stupid.
She was a good artist. I liked her art. I’d wondered for a while why she was so hostile to me. Since Nazis are homophobes, it made perfect sense. That explains that.
Pfirsich at least knows, being a man of his time, that being a “Nazi” may only mean you’re a party member. Stay tuned and see why he joined. A bit late, but he did.
The story about the knees – in both paper AND downloadable pdf readable on just about anything – is in Bread and Swans, at my book site.

I await the explanations for the “I am a Nazi.” statement with baited breath. (Ask the cats, tuna for breakfast will do that.)
You know I don’t leave you hanging. It should be up by now (Sorry this is late; I was at Emerald City Comicon and Norwescon, and in between running around getting the city-things done. And nobody can type as fast as they need to on an IPad).
I soon discovered she was just a kid with mommy issues, whose English understanding wasn’t very good. After WWII, we Americans prevented any sort of teaching of the Nazi era, because we – what? Thought the surviving Germans who had just been through that hell pie would want another slice, please? Once again, we’re the ones at fault for a mess in Germany; a lot of young Germans have no clue because that’s the way we wanted it. Then again, a lot of young Americans have absolutely no clue about slavery or Indian assimilation and genocide, and throw the terms around with insane arguments of amelioration. Ya gotta love education systems with stuff to hide.
“a kid with mommy issues” doesn’t rule out the others, but you did explain the ignorance rather elegantly.
Thank you. Considering that it confuses the hell out of me, I guess that’s good.
Thank you. I was maundering around trying to figure it out, so I’m glad it made SOME sense. Sort of.
When I read this I immediately thought of a friend of min, also at DA, but she is the opposite, she loved the whole Nazi idealism and even went into long researches to prove Hitler was badly advised and drugged to do those whom advised him biding. I tried to explain over and over that , in the best case scenario, Hitler might have been a tool, but it would never exhonerate him for all the crimes he committed against his very own people, less all the crimes during the war. Showed her the Mein Kampf manga, so she could gave it a read, it still shows the nazi were as autoritharian against their own as they wanted to be with everyone else. I can understand Adolf might have been a caring man, that loved nature, painting and children, andI can imaginne him playing catch with his dog, or even behaving like a lover to Eva, the same I can imagine Napoleon and Julius Caesar doing that, but that never ever takes away that he did a lot of harm to people whom once trusted him
