WAT
Ditto…WTF–Kruger, what have you been hiding all this time?!
I love it!
Yeah – I remember reading this the first time. *boggle*
You thought YOU were surprised…. Actually, I was surprised when Udo told me he was Jewish. I’d already based Krüger on a friend/cook/crazy woman.
I read it at first as “you been yelled at by the Old Man, you’re one of us.” Kruger’s a surprise.
hswoolve: Well, yeah, that too. That kinda counts for everybody here. She still hasn’t pulled her socks up.
If you are including Kruger, neither one has their socks up. Mine just fell down with my jaw.
Not only did I not see that coming, but Kruger’s got to be the butchest butch I’ve ever seen. I mean, yeah, to a certain amount a crew cut can have that effect, but DAYMN.
Presuming, from the comments, that it is meant literally. I’d initially take it as metaphor, personally.
That was kinda fun, surprising everybody! There’s life in the old dog yet. Tina Fey’s kid pictures look like a boy, but then there’s not a lot of sexual dimorphism in humans; it’s more a bell curve than an absolute. I used to dress as a boy off-duty in the army, for my own protection. When approached by a prostitute, I murmured, “Sorry, you got the wrong one.” She was very upset, as though she’d blown it as a professional. I had to tell her why I did it to calm her down. Try it — passing for one gender or the other, for many people, is NOT THAT HARD.
Oh, I can’t pass at all, not with these boobs. It’s definitely something that those of us at certain parts in the bell curve can’t pull off. More power to those who can though, because androgyny is hot. XD
Manawolf. Yes it is.
When I worked as a nursing assistant I kept my hair very short, removed all my earrings before work, wore no jewelry and baggy clothes to throw off the perceptions of the dirty old confused men. Most would not risk a grope on a possible boy.
I’m told I look like my brother and father. If it were something I wanted to do I could pass with a little effort. Boobs are bigger now, but dressed properly it’s not too hard.
Kind of interesting in the gender appearance/ roles department: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sworn_virgin
erimentha: As long as you’re not working in a church. A writer I know did an entire mini on passing as a male, including if one had the large breasts. “Sworn virgin:” oh, it has a name as a class! I should have known some sociologist would name that.
