and Pfirsch’s not even behaving out of the ordinary (for him). He probably doesn’t even realize that she’s *not* going to take it as normal manners. For her, it’s just “one more damn man treating me like I have no brain” (it is such a telling wince in the last panel Donna, brava).
blue: We’ve all heard them talking like this, and I swear they often think it impresses us. No, really.
hswoolve: Nope, he’s being completely proper for him. The Peach is from another time, with other manners. And glad you liked that! What woman hasn’t had to wince like that — for us, or for them?

blackcatx3: For his time and place, the Peach would have been a miracle of decency toward women. Then again, that’s what the Koran was, at the time it was written. So was the Bible, for that matter. Now — not so much.
