I was going to say “Welcome” to Nobody, but it’s the least fun story so far.

So many people ask why why why did the decent people of Germany — and I am still willing to believe that the majority of the human race is decent (I’m nuts, huh?) — “allow” this to happen?

For years I tried to describe how, but recently the Americans have displayed the entire process out for everyone to see.  We’d LIKE to have kept it quiet, but since the advent of the camera phone, nobody’s been able to hide anything.  All the Germans had was state radios, two state radio channels and state newspapers. They were the first to be hit with the true Media Blitz and they were up against a force quite willing to disappear the population of entire apartment buildings to get rid of one person inside — or to put party-preferred personnel into nice digs.  We always have to remember that there is nothing quite so economically-driven as Fascism.

And no, I don’t want to hear the Germans were somehow more racially vicious than anybody else — especially you Americans and Brits.  You have enough of your own mirrors to look into.  It’s no longer a brag for an American to say, “My ancestors were pioneers!”  However, they WILL tell you they’re part Indian (Cherokee, of course) and that nothing like that ever happened in THEIR state and it’s History, anyway, and they’re not guilty nor nothin.’

Nope.  Since 1945, the rule is:  Your people did it, YOU did it.  Sorry; sauce for the goose and all.
