Winzig started as an extremely shallow foil bad-guy and then took over the series; he and Udo get issue 26 Miki all to themselves, and by issue 29 Out Of The East (The Path Of The Friend) he’s driving the plot, and is just a virulent anti-Nazi as he ever was a Facist.

Winzig was always honest. He believed, and when his beliefs fail him, he hunts them down like a betrayed lover.  In issue 17 Culture Clash you get a hint at what sent him down his ranting path.
